On Wednesday 2 June, as part of the activities held by the Ministry for Gozo to mark the World Environment Day, a tree-planting activity was held in Ġnien il-Familja in Qala. Some weeks before, this same garden suffered a vandal attack where a number of trees were broken or stolen. This activity was organised by the Hands on Farming programme in collaboration with the Qala Local Council and the Qala Primary School. The activity included songs, poetry, reading and speeches. A shield sponsored by eco-Gozo was presented to the Qala Primary School for their commitment in planting and taking care of indigenous trees through this scholastic year.
